For a long time, I lived a life that looked “right” on paper, but felt completely misaligned on the inside. I was constantly checking boxes, trying to be the person everyone expected me to be, yet I felt more disconnected from myself every day.
I thought the answer was simply to work harder. I bought the planners, I tracked the habits, and I pushed myself with sheer willpower. But no matter how many “productive” days I had, I eventually snapped back to the same old patterns of [overthinking / playing small / feeling stuck].
The Turning Point: It wasn’t my habits. It was my identity.
The shift happened when I realized that I was trying to build a new life while clinging to an old version of myself. I was like software trying to run a new program on an outdated operating system.
I realized that real change doesn’t start with what you do; it starts with who you believe you are. Once I shifted my internal blueprint—the subconscious stories I told myself—the habits finally started to stick. Not because I fought harder, but because they became a natural expression of who I had become.
